Line Rings

This project is a collection of rings that are designed to highlight the interaction between wearer and jewelry. The moveable sphere inside the ring provides feedback to the wearer through natural movement in form of collision, vibration, and rotation. The nine rings are designed in different formats that can be worn in various ways.

Waves

Waves necklaces form imitates the movement of water and curly hair. The necklaces matt surface is suede like and made with needle matt technique. Original piece prototype for casting and mold making has been hand made by bending warm wax sheets with form giving irons. In the center of one necklace piece there is a bigger wave and aroud it smaller ones to create natural movement and balanced design. The necklace has a luxurious feeling in it yet it is flowing and light to wear. The necklace is made from recycled sterling silver in Sonkajarvi, Finland and it is not plated.

Crosscut Cabouchon

Within the carefully designed and boldly coloured settings, Sun matches the ethically sourced gemstones with new vocabularies of materials. Upcycled Corian and anodized aluminium meet recycled gold and silver to offer a stark contrast with the characteristics of the stone. The uncommon material palette and setting techniques in a sustainable and ethical manner, allow Sun opportunities to play with scale and proportion, invite the audience to see jewellery in a different light.

Adesse

Adesse is an ultra-minimalist watch that acts as a memento to enjoy the present. The minimalist approach to becoming 'present' is to remove the unnecessary. Adesse reimagines the traditional analog watch with minimalist principles, and questions what is absolutely necessary to tell the time. Do you really need to see the numerical indicators? The minute hand? The hour hand? Designed through subtraction, traditional watch features are removed. A sculptural piece is carved out of the watch face. The face rotates, covering and deliberately revealing just enough to tell the time.

Arch

The designer receives inspiration from the shape of arch structures and rainbow. Two motifs – an arch shape and a drop shape, are combined to create a single 3 dimensional form. By combining minimal lines and forms and utilizing simple and common motifs, the result is a simple and elegant ring that is made bold and playful by providing space for energy and rhythm to flow. From different angles the shape of the ring changes – the drop shape is viewed from front angle, arch shape is viewed from side angle, and a cross is viewed from top angle. This provides stimulation for the wearer.

Touch

With a simple gesture, an action of touch conveys rich emotions. Through the Touch ring, the designer aims to convey this warm and formless feeling with cold and solid metal. 2 curves are joined to form a ring that suggests 2 people holding hands. The ring changes its aspect when its position is rotated on the finger and viewed from different angles. When the connected parts are positioned between your fingers, the ring appears either yellow or white. When the connected parts are positioned on the finger, you can enjoy both yellow and white color together.
